During your first visit, we will discuss your skin care concerns and recommend a treatment based on our expertise and knowledge. If you decide to go ahead with anti-wrinkle injections, you would be required to consult face to face with Melanie, our nurse prescriber. She will run through any medical conditions and allergies you may have to determine if the treatment is appropriate for you.
We will also discuss all the contraindications and side effects before proceeding. Anti-wrinkle injection is a prescription-only medication, so only a qualified medical professional can perform the treatment.
Our team always takes before-and-after photos for your medical records. These will not be used for advertising unless we have written consent to do so. During these shoots, we will be asking you to use your muscles (e.g., frowning, smiling and raising your eyebrows) so that we can see where the anti-wrinkle injection needs to be administered.
We will first clean the area with an anti-bacterial agent and then mark up the zones where we will inject the treatment. The procedure itself usually takes around 5 minutes. Our clients have reported little to no pain during the procedure, but if you are suffering from needle phobia, we can apply a topical numbing agent beforehand.
For first-timers, we always go with a standard dosage no matter how deep your lines are. This is because each person reacts differently to the medication. We would rather treat you this way in order to prevent unwanted side effects and determine the correct dosage for you.
After the session, we will give you an aftercare leaflet and advice on what to avoid, although there is very little downtime with anti-wrinkle injections. We invite you to come back after two weeks for a review. At this point, we can administer more, should you think you need it. This is our favourite part of the work as we get to see how happy you are with the results while you compare the before-and-after pictures.
