Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections consist of BOTOX®, a brand of Botulinum toxin, which pertains to a protein used to treat certain muscular medical conditions. This type of injectable is one of the most common and safest ways to treat forehead and frown lines as well as crow’s feet around the eyes without having invasive surgery.

*BOTOX® is now a branded product so we can no longer call our treatment by this name.

How It Works

Our anti-wrinkle treatment works by blocking the nerve signals and the affected muscles around the injection site. The muscles become more relaxed, and their activity is reduced, which therefore lessens the negative effects on the skin such as lines.

We provide a free-no obligation consultation prior to undergoing any type of treatment. We understand that your face is very important feature so if you are considering any cosmetic procedure, this is because you want to get the right results for you.

Many of our clients prefer to have their consultation and treatment on the same day. However, if you would like to come and have a chat first and think about it, then that is okay, too. We want to make sure that all of our clients are sure about their treatments before they go ahead. It is against our policy to perform treatment on anyone who is undecided.

On the Day of Treatment

During your first visit, we will discuss your skin care concerns and recommend a treatment based on our expertise and knowledge. If you decide to go ahead with anti-wrinkle injections, you would be required to consult face to face with Melanie, our nurse prescriber. She will run through any medical conditions and allergies you may have to determine if the treatment is appropriate for you.

We will also discuss all the contraindications and side effects before proceeding. Anti-wrinkle injection is a prescription-only medication, so only a qualified medical professional can perform the treatment.

Our team always takes before-and-after photos for your medical records. These will not be used for advertising unless we have written consent to do so. During these shoots, we will be asking you to use your muscles (e.g., frowning, smiling and raising your eyebrows) so that we can see where the anti-wrinkle injection needs to be administered.

We will first clean the area with an anti-bacterial agent and then mark up the zones where we will inject the treatment. The procedure itself usually takes around 5 minutes. Our clients have reported little to no pain during the procedure, but if you are suffering from needle phobia, we can apply a topical numbing agent beforehand.

For first-timers, we always go with a standard dosage no matter how deep your lines are. This is because each person reacts differently to the medication. We would rather treat you this way in order to prevent unwanted side effects and determine the correct dosage for you.

After the session, we will give you an aftercare leaflet and advice on what to avoid, although there is very little downtime with anti-wrinkle injections. We invite you to come back after two weeks for a review. At this point, we can administer more, should you think you need it. This is our favourite part of the work as we get to see how happy you are with the results while you compare the before-and-after pictures.

Anti-wrinkle injections usually take two weeks to work. Nonetheless, you may start to see smoother appearance and reduction of lines on your skin after just one week. Your journey does not end there, either. At Young and Beautiful Aesthetics, we are committed to providing excellent patient care so you can contact us anytime post-procedure if you have questions or concerns.

Dermal Fillers

A popular and versatile anti-ageing injectable treatment, dermal fillers volumises, lifts and plumps up the skin, leaving it looking smooth, contoured and youthful. The results can be subtle for clients who do not want a noticeable difference. For example, treating the marionette lines can turn the corners of the mouth upwards, either giving a more dramatic look or simply adding more volume and definition to thin lips.

Dermal fillers consist of hyaluronic acid, which naturally occurs within the body and is found in the deep layers of the dermis. One of its functions is to keep the skin smooth and healthy by retaining water.

When we are born, we have lots of hyaluronic acids, and as we age, the enzymes within our body gradually start to disintegrate it. Unfortunately, this is what causes wrinkles to deepen, lips to lose their fullness, cheeks to lose their volume and lines to appear around the nose and mouth.

Dermal fillers are a man-made product containing non-animal substances that, once injected, mimic the body’s natural depleted hyaluronic acid. When introduced to the face, the fillers give the appearance of a plumper, more youthful look and can provide structure to your features.

While there are many different types of dermal filler available on the Internet, some are not FDA-approved. This is why you must always ask your practitioner what products they use and research about them if possible. For your peace of mind, we exclusively use top-brand fillers from the JUVÉDERM® and TEOSYAL® range. These are administered by registered nurses Kate and Mel.

If you are thinking of getting dermal fillers, we do prefer for you to have a consultation with us before your treatment. This allows us to examine your face and determine how much of the product is required.

We will also do a quick health assessment in order to determine if you are suitable for the fillers. The treatment will be provided a week or so to give you time to digest all of the information given during our consultation, ensuring your certainty to proceed.

On the Day of Treatment

During your session, you will be required to complete a medical questionnaire and identify any allergies you may have. We will discuss all the contraindications and side effects before we proceed. Before-and-after pictures will likewise be taken for our medical records, which will not be used for advertising unless we have written consent from you.

We will mark certain areas of your face and clean them with an anti-bacterial agent. A topical numbing agent will be applied to the area 15 minutes before the injection so that the procedure becomes as pain-free as possible.

Dermal fillers provide instant results so we may ask you to look into a mirror before the procedure is finished to determine where you would like the remaining filler to be administered. As aesthetic professionals, we can advise where we think it should go but we like to listen to our clients and ask their opinions, too. After all, it is your face we are dealing with, and we want to get the right results for you.

Once the procedure is finished, there may be some swelling, which will go down within a few days. We will provide you with a leaflet of dos and don’ts, although there is very little downtime with this procedure. Most people return to work the next day with nobody noticing you have had a cosmetic procedure done.

For further questions and concerns, feel free to contact us, and we will address them immediately.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are liquid solutions that can be applied to the skin. They remove dead skin cells and promote regeneration as well as new cell growth. Our skin naturally sheds dead cells every 30 days (unless you have psoriasis, in which case, shedding happens every two to three days).

As we age, this process slows down and the dead skin cells build up on the surface of our skin. This causes pore to get clogged, spots to appear and makeup to sit in the lines of our face. Removing these dead skin cells will increase the rate at which the cells underneath regenerate, giving a younger, fresher look to your skin.

Chemical peels are designed to treat irregular pigmentation, sun damage, acne scarring and facial lines by tightening the skin. The peels typically use trichloroacetic, salicylic, or glycolic acid. The effectiveness of a chemical peel and your recovery time will depend on the depth of the treatment.

At Young and Beautiful Aesthetics, we provide two kinds of peels: one is a superficial peel called Neostrata and the other is a medium-depth peel called EASY TCA.

Neostrata Superficial Peel

Superficial peels make the skin brighter and more vibrant by removing cells from the epidermis (the top layer of the skin). Factors such as pollution, extreme temperatures, cosmetics, smoking, lifestyle and UV rays can all contribute to the skin’s ageing process.

Chemical peels can have a miraculous impact on skin suffering from these elements. Lighter peels are designed to refresh dull, drab and worn-looking skin, helping to penetrate oil barriers, unblock pores and clear the skin of breakouts. Superficial peels require regular treatments to maintain any improvement since the effects are more temporary.

On the Day of Treatment

First, we will address all skin care concerns and ask you to complete a medical health questionnaire identifying any past medical history or allergies you may have. To start the process, we will cleanse your skin then apply the product using a small brush. It is important that we start off with a lower-grade peel in order to see how tolerant your skin is.

The peel will be left on for 5 minutes. You may experience slight tingling or stinging while the peel is being applied but it should not be painful. Then, we will apply a neutraliser to soothe your skin. After the treatment, your skin may look red or feel tight but you do not have to worry as this is completely normal.

You can apply makeup immediately after your peel and return to your normal daily tasks. The results should develop over the next few days. The superficial peels have very little downtime and most people return to work the next day with nobody noticing that they have had a treatment done. This peel can be applied to the face, hands, neck and chest.

In order to get the full benefit from the peel, you may also purchase from our wide range of skin care products that enhances and maintains longevity. While these are recommended for use before and after the peel, they are not essential for your treatment.

If you would like to have the priming cream beforehand (at an additional cost), please express this when booking your appointment as the primer is to be applied two weeks before your treatment.

EASY TCA – Deep Peel

EASY TCA is a medium-strength peel. Its depth is determined by a number of factors, including how long the peel is left on and whether it is applied lightly or rubbed in vigorously onto the skin.

In addition to the face, TCA may also be applied to the neck, chest, hands or anywhere that has been exposed to the sun or has skin damage. For example, a person that suffers from acne on their back would benefit from having this peel.

Who should consider an EASY TCA Peel?

If you have any of the following conditions, then you might be a good candidate for a TCA peel:

Like other resurfacing methods, the TCA peel is effective in treating wrinkles, blotchiness or age spots and scars from acne or other causes. Certain characteristics of your skin such as its thickness and texture may influence whether you are a good candidate for this peel.

On the Day of Treatment

We will carefully examine your skin and address any skin care concerns you may have. Your skin type, the severity of any sun damage, the extent of uneven pigmentation and the depth of skin imperfections will be evaluated. You will also be asked to complete a medical health questionnaire to identify any past history or allergies. Current or past use of Accutane, Retin-A and other topical skin preparations must be reported.

Before applying the peel, we will first cleanse your skin thoroughly. The chemical will then be applied to the face, neck, chest, hands or wherever your skin care concern is using a small brush. You will start to feel the peel stinging or burning and it is important that you express to us the level of this.

We can apply numerous layers of the TCA peel and the longer you can handle the stinging or burning sensation, the deeper the peel will penetrate. A neutralising cream will then be applied to stop the sensation. Your face will appear red and you cannot apply any makeup for the rest of the day after the treatment.

Again, we offer a range of skin care products that can be purchased alongside the treatment in order to enhance and maintain its longevity. These are only recommended and not essential pre- or post-peel. All creams are charged as an additional cost. Please enquire about this when you book your appointment.

Post-Treatment Care

The EASY TCA peel does require some downtime and it is important to be aware of this when booking your treatment. You may consider taking a few days off work post-treatment. When the treatment is completed, your resurfaced skin will be covered in a protective ointment.

Some people experience discomfort after a medium or deep chemical peel. During the first few days, you are likely to experience redness and swelling to varying degrees. The skin will tighten and you will notice it starting to peel.

Once your old skin has shed, the new one will appear to be a pink colour. After a few days, this will fade and the puffiness will subside. However, your skin will remain sensitive so you should avoid exposure to sunlight and continue using a sunblock with factor 50.

It may take some time before you can fully appreciate your new look but the results are definitely worth the wait. Your pores will appear smaller, fine lines will disappear and the skin will feel smoother and plumper overall.

Unfortunately, your skin will continue to age and wrinkles cause by facial movement will eventually reappear. Still, you can expect the improvements in skin quality and texture to make your complexion seem younger and fresher for many years to come. The treatment can be repeated any time in order to maintain these results.

• Neostrata Range (Superficial Peel) - £60 per Peel

• EASY TCA (Medium or Deep Peel) - £100 per Peel

We also offer a wide range of creams that can enhance and maintain the results of the peel. Please speak to us about purchasing these when you book your appointment.

Derma Rolling

Many of us would like to improve our skin in one way or another. A derma roller can help eliminate scars, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, sagging skin, lines and wrinkles, which are all caused by the loss of collagen in the skin. The derma roller works by stimulating the body’s own collagen production process, repairing and renewing the skin over time.

There are many reasons why people choose to have the procedure done:

  • To reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the face and décolletage
  • Rejuvenate hands and minimise the signs of aging
  • Revitalise aged and sun damaged skin
  • Reduce acne scarring
  • The removal of stretch marks or cellulite
The derma roller is a single-use medical device. It is utilised to produce thousands of micro-needle columns in the skin. Each column penetrates the dermis and is approximately 0.1 mm in width. The columns close rapidly, enabling the skin to recover quickly—often on the same day.

On the Day of Treatment

We will first assess all of your skin care concerns prior to your treatment. You will be asked to complete a medical health questionnaire and identify any allergies you may have.

Your skin will then be cleansed thoroughly in order to prepare it for the derma roller. We will use the device over your problem areas. It may feel uncomfortable during the procedure; however, the face and neck can be completed in around 5 minutes. Larger areas with stretch marks or cellulites may take longer. Your skin will be red following the procedure and sun protection (factor 50) will be required.

After the process, your body will start to regenerate and repair the skin naturally, working below the surface in the dermis. This can take some time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced.

It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen. The process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long-lasting enhancement.

• £200 for Face and Neck

• £150 for Stretch Marks or Cellulites
